I want to support SPARC!    Give Now

When you donate to SPARC, you are playing the most vital role in providing arts education programs for youth.

SPARC is a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organization that provides transformative performing arts education to over 1,200 students each year. SPARC’s Federal EIN is 54-1271758.

Your Support

We rely on the generosity of supporters like you to fulfill our mission to profoundly influence young people’s lives through exceptional performing arts education. Tuition and ticket sales cover less than half of our annual budget.

With your support, SPARC continues our more than 40-year legacy of turning no child away because of inability to afford tuition. Your gift also helps to sustain our community outreach programs so students of all means, abilities, and disciplines can have access to performing arts education.

THANK YOU for your support!

Transfer Stock to SPARC

Transferring stock to SPARC is an excellent way to support our mission — you get the tax deduction on the fair market value of the stock being donated, and you don’t pay capital gains tax on its appreciation. (Of course, please consult your tax advisor.)

Please note: We need donors to inform SPARC of their plans to transfer stock. Otherwise, we receive the shares but have no way of knowing who has given them! Please contact Juanita Ashburne, Director of Development, at jashburne@sparcrichmond.org or 804.353.3393 ext. 238.

To make a gift of stock, please ask your broker to transfer the securities electronically via Depository Trust Company (DTC) to Charles Schwab using the following information:

Account number: 9394-6835
DTC Routing Number: 0164
Contact Name: Charles Schwab Asset Transfers
Contact Phone: 877-908-3498
Account Name: School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC)

Make a Planned Gift

SPARC recognizes those who share our vision to inspire the creativity, confidence, and character of young people in our community as the Ovation Circle Legacy Society .

The Ovation Circle Legacy Society appreciates those whose generous promise of a planned gift ensures the long-term sustainability of our mission to profoundly influence young people’s lives through exceptional performing arts education. These revocable gifts  ensure SPARC’s financial durability, expand our youth-centered programs , and increase our impact in the community.

Should you choose to include SPARC in your will or other estate plans, we would be honored to know of your intentions and have you as a member of our Ovation Circle. Throughout each year, we have opportunities to honor and thank our Ovation Circle members and we would love to include you!

For convenience, sample language of a beneficiary designation for SPARC is:

“I give, devise, and bequeath (specific asset or amount, percentage, or residuary share) to School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community (SPARC), 2106 N. Hamilton Street, Richmond, Virginia, 23230, for the benefit of SPARC and its general purposes.”

SPARC’s Tax ID number is: 54-1271758.

Ways to make a Planned Gift:

  • Designate SPARC as a beneficiary of a portion of your will, retirement plan, and/or life insurance;
  • Create a Charitable Gift Annuity with SPARC;
  • Create a Charitable Remainder Trust with SPARC;
  • And more.

We would appreciate you filling out this form to alert us to your plans. You can also contact SPARC’s Development Coordinator Devon Kotch at 804-353-3393 ext. 237 for more information or to communicate your intentions.
